I think the day of this boho inspired family session was maybe the second day that it didn’t rain in almost three weeks here in Southwest Florida.  Originally, we had planned to capture this sweet family’s photos on Mother’s Day, but there seemed to be nothing but endless rain in sight.  Thankfully, Mother Nature didn’t disappoint us this time.

I love how Natalie included me in all of her ideas and inspiration for this boho family session.  I love fresh florals, so I was super happy when she shared her vision of wanting florals in her and her daughter’s hair and that she had ordered a beautiful canvas teepee for us to also drape floral garland down the front of.  She also wanted real eucalyptus attached to two large white balloons to tie all of the elements together, and I wanted to help bring her vision to life.

Everything was set up and beautifully coordinated for their boho inspired family session, and then we asked Brynn to put on her special boho flower crown, and well, she wasn’t really having it.  This (most-of-the-time) sweet and funny little, red-headed two year old was definitely running the show. All it took was four adults, a little Disney music, and some bribing with applesauce, to get her to give up some precious smiles. LOL.

I love that she already has such a strong personality like her momma, is funny like her daddy, and has a fierce will about her, that I’m not quite sure which parent gave to her.  In the moment, it was hard to get her to give me some grins, but after it was all done and said, it made the ones she did let up, that much more worth it.

I truly had a blast with this family this time and all of the times that we’ve shot together in the past. Each experience, brings different joys to my life, and makes me feel honored to be able to do what I love.  Capturing photographs will bring out the kid in you. You start singing “The Little Mermaid” songs you know by heart, coming up with nursery rhymes you used to know as a child, or you start dancing around making silly noises and motions that you normally wouldn’t be caught doing in public. But it’s all worth it in the end.

I so hope you enjoy these sweet moments I’ve captured for you Natalie and Ryan and that one day Brynn will appreciate all the blood, sweat and tears it took for us to make them happen!
