When Danielle, a fellow photographer, asked me to do her personal branding photos for her, I knew we wouldn’t have any trouble forming a vision and plan for her photoshoot. And we wouldn’t be short any belly laughs either.

As with all of my personal branding clients, I talked with Danielle prior to her session about what made her brand unique. We created a list of what categories of her life she wanted to share with her potential clients so they would be able to connect with her on a deeper level. We also discussed her brand’s color palette, her message, and what types of poses she wanted captured during her session as well.

Part of the planning process for my personal branding photo sessions, entails collaborating on a shared mood board I’ve created. This ensures we are both on the same creative wavelength when it comes to brainstorming and making a shot list. And this is one of my favourite parts of planning for their one time branding photo session or for their quarterly personal branding sessions with me throughout the upcoming year.

Making sure I captured Danielle in a way that was authentic and true to her and her brand was the most important goal for her session.

She shared with me that one of the women in the photography world that inspires her the most is Nancy Ray, of Nancy Ray Photography, and I just adore her as well. I kinda think Danielle has a very similar style and could quite possibly be her look-a-like too, not even kidding!

So for her first of four personal branding sessions over the next year, we decided on three main spots in the Downtown Sarasota area. We used the mid-century modern setting and live plant design elements at The Overton as the backdrop for most of her photos. We also ventured to a couple other awesome spots near by to complete the different ideas we had for her session. And I think we had an amazing photo session! I can’t wait for our next one!
