|Ezra is One|

As a Punta Gorda family photographer I have the privilege of capturing little ones and their special milestones as they grow so quickly.  What I love most about these sessions is that I get to capture so much more than just photographs.

I get to capture laughter. I get to capture little steps. Sometimes they are wobbly and plummet to the ground, because walking is still new to them. I get to capture joy and bliss and love. This is why I am a photographer.

When I started planning this session for little Ezra with her mom, Courtney, I knew we were going to have a blast. I could feel her positive energy from our messages back and forth right away.

When we all arrived for the session, I was greeted with a cheeky grin and bright eyes from little Miss Ezra.  Her smile was contagious. It immediately brought a smile to my face. It took her little brother a bit longer to warm up and give up some giggles and smiles, but eventually he came around.

I have to give credit to the boys. Max, the dad, and Lennox, the son.  I know that boys aren’t typically looking forward to having their photos taken as much as the girls are, but they seemed to warm up enjoy themselves as well. Lennox got excited when he and his momma started running and playing with each other. Either that, or he forgot I was taking photos and just enjoyed playing.

We were quite lucky to have such a lovely day, after this cold snap we had been having.  The sun glistened through the leaves of the trees and provided the most beautiful golden hour light.  As a Punta Gorda family photographer, I was feeling quite blessed to have such a great family and beautiful light for this session.

My favorite part of photographing families is that I get to capture those tiny fleeting little moments that pass us by so quickly. I get to freeze these little moments into tangible photographs.  I photograph families so that their children one day, so that Ezra and Lennox will one day get to look back on these snippets of time and be thankful that their mommy and daddy made the effort to document the special moments of their journey.
